Opus, a 3 piece band from the always controversial New Jersey, redefine the words "NEW MUSIC" with their own brand of "World Orientated Opinion Rock." Eight years fermenting their sound using hand percussions called djembes, not bongos, they're big enough to sit on and loud enough to spit beats along side any drum kit. Together with acoustic and bass w/ jazz-rock over tones, and vocals ranging from Billie Holiday vibrato to early 90's edge.Anyone will say Opus is different yet oh so catchy. Joshua Simons (singer guitarist) of Opus says, "Being different gives us the advantage to be as catchy as we want to be, because no matter what we will always sound like us. ( Opus coming together in July 8th,2000) Kyle and Josh joined together playing acoustic guitars later opening up to new instruments like D'jembe, piano, and bass. Joined about seven years later by percussionist Jason Edgar solidifying the opus sound. Always obtaining amazing opportunities such as playing Lallapalooza local side stage (NYC,NJ) "The band is more rehearsed and professional than most professionals in the industry" Touching all subjects from religion to politics, and social behavior.(J.C. to D.C. to A.D.D and teen pregnancy!) shows Opus has something for everybody.
