Steven Fedrick has written music his whole life but kept it to himself. A heart attack at 46 compelled him to loose his music into the world. His debut CD Fedrick not Fred is the result.
""After almost kicking the bucket, which was a very surreal experience, I got seriously motivated to get my songs out of my head and into the public arena. Good or bad, I figured it would be a shame to die with my music still in me. So, I virtually locked myself into my home studio until I had the CD in hand. After I had the final product, I thought, 'what the hell, I'll release it and see where it takes me'. I'd never performed in public so I was a bit apprehensive. But I figured what the hell. And what I found was a distribution revolution. Major retailer's doors are now open to the indie artist.
As far as the reactions I've garnered, it's exceeded my expectations. Truth be told, I'm having the time of my life. I'm getting to know folks I'd never have had the chance to meet before.
The cardio wake-up call was exactly what I needed. So go old dudes, as Joseph Campbell said, it's never too late to follow your bliss.""
