A skilled songwriter, the Woolicane has been writing songs for over a decade, starting way back in 1997, and has been discribed as a modern day poet who can capture emotion in his words amazingly well. On top of his high giging schedual he originally seasoned his performance skills on the stage as both a stand-up comic in the seaside town of Scarborough and as an actor, staring in professional, semiprofessional and amature productions ranging from pantomime to Shakespear, and from naturalism to surrealism and other avant garde movements as well as practicing his creative skills as a fantasy and crime writer. On top of that he has also spent a great deal of time behind the scenes and has experience as a lighting technician, AV coordinator, direcetor, promotor and booker. Still his first love has always been music. His distinctive style, which has led to comparisons with incredible writers such as Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan, has made him a big hit on the Humberside acoustic scene opening for local, national and international acts as well as working as a headline atraction himself.
