He began his musical career as ""Johnny Angel"" in Boston 1977 as the manic, pacing, frenzied guitar player in the band Thrills. He then, as leader formed the indie-blues-punk Blackjacks and comic Swinging Erudites through to the punk pop Creeps In Exile.

Angel had been perennially writing catchy little gems, but as the duty of family got to him, he more or less hung it up for ten years, only to re-emerge as ""Johnny Angel Wendell"" (Wendell being his name on the radio), where he is one the nation's more vivid talk shows hosts, on KTLK and KFI in Los Angeles.
