Children was the splinter group formed upon breakup of the legendary St. Louis progressive rock band, Pavlov's Dog. The Children sound was crafted by Cam Spillman, vocalist/songwriter and Mike Safron, drummer/songwriter/producer, anong with a cast of excellent St. Louis musicians.
The Children instrumentation included synthesizers, Chamberlin, mellotrons, winds, brass, and a wide assortment of keyboard instruments augmenting a tight rock ensemble lineup.
The selections offered here saw considerable FM airplay in 1978, but the raw initial tracks were never released, until Mike Safron assembled a touring version of the concept and released a CD. Consequently, you're listening to some early mixes with extended content - notably "Song for Good" with the original long intro.
We hope you will enjoy this sampling from a truly progressive American rock band.
