Bottle-fed on strong New England maple syrup, guitarist and songwriter Aislinn O’Connor hightailed it to Missoula, MT, in 1992 after watching too many episodes of “Twin Peaks.” In Missoula, she formed a band with Molly Cogswell-Kelly and Gibson Hartwell (of Tarkio). Then, like a good 20-something, Aislinn moved to New York City in the late ’90s, where she started playing music with Scott Helland (of Deep Wound, Outpatients). She fell in love with Appalachia after a trip South and moved to Johnson City, TN, in 2001, where she formed The Feral Throes, performing at renowned local listening room the Down Home as well as venues that include Pete’s Candy Store in Brooklyn, NY; The Elevens in Northampton, MA; Cat’s Cradle in Chapel Hill, NC; and Caledonia Lounge in Athens, GA. Aislinn now lives in Portland, OR, and performs with D.C.-raised drummer Scot Hinson, also an original member of The Feral Throes.
