Jim was born in Tupelo, Mississippi in 1977. He moved to Jackson, Mississippi when he was 12. He graduated from Jackson Academy in 1995. He Graduated from Mississippi State University in 2000. Jim began playing music very young in life. His first band, Blue Tattoo, Played all over the USA. They shared the stage with The Wailers, Sister Hazel, Charlie Mars, and Ingram Hill to name a few. Since then Jim has been playing solo. Jim has played with The North Mississippi Allstars, Marc Broussard, Michael Tolcher and so on.Jim is married to April and they have a beautiful little boy, Gavin.
