'Falling Forwards' is a bold attempt at creating a classic record. Affecting and at times heavy on the emotions, the EP flaunts a combination of lush and fervent orchestration underpinned by rich arpeggiated chords. Clearly aimed at the discerning classical listener, Routledge manages to combine dexterous and intricate musical passages with jazz-infused chords, at times blurring the lines between romantic period classical music and modern day jazz.
