BERYL QUINTON - Artist (Vocalist/Keyboard). A survivor of Hurricane Katrina, Beryl was born to a musical and God-centered family. With radio/TV/stage performances as a child, Beryl’s experience ranges from a “doo-wop” group in high school, to her own rock band, raising 5 children, singing in the “Papal Choir” during Pope John Paul II’s visit to New Orleans in 1987, and a group musical ministry at her parish church for over 25 years. Beryl was once the Civilian Personnel Director for the Eighth District of the U. S. Coast Guard; and, after completing her Federal career, was Choir Director at St. Louis Cathedral Catholic Elementary School from 2001-2004. In 2002, under her direction, her ""children"" performed their gospel music at the New Orleans Jazz Fest. A descendant of the Caruso family, Beryl's father David was a Plumber and a New Orleans composer with a couple of notable compositions back in the 20's; her mother, a schoolteacher; and her brother David Jr., an attorney, the composer of the title song of her first CD ""Like The Seagull,"" nominated for nationwide Catholic competition in 2002. The two new CD releases and music video are currently finalists in six categories of competition for 2005 Awards, sponsored by the United Catholic Music & Video Association.
JUAN QUINTON, JR. - Artist (Vocalist) and Percussionist. Juan has a primary career in law enforcement with the New Orleans Police Department. His musical heritage carries on to the fourth generation of his family a name which originated with his great-grandfather Juan Bautista Quinton, a composer and organist who studied at the Conservatory of Paris before moving to Puerto Rico. Juan's grandfather Jose Ignatio Quinton later became one of the island's most celebrated composers, known especially for his Danzas and Requiem Mass. Juan's father Bobby Quinton was a pianist known for his ""Bach to Boogie"" at locations such as Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop, La Lune, and Bobby Quinton's Lounge on Tulane Avenue.
BERYL AND JUAN have been in the photography business since 1983. Both she and Juan were in rock bands in the early years, but it was at St. Dominic about 24 years ago that they met, both having joined the ""Contemporaries"" a guitar group in which they still participate. ""Endless Love,"" one of the tracks on ""Amazing Graces,"" was the first duet sung together at a friend's wedding.
In the production of ""Amazing Graces,"" the musical depiction of a Christian lifetime, their home was utilized as a ""recording studio,"" and Beryl did the pre-mixes before bringing the tracks to Marc Hewitt at Sound Services Studio in New Orleans for final mixing and mastering. She also prepared the CD artwork for the cover, traycard and discface.

Sadly, in August 2005, with their home devastated by flooding in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Beryl and Juan relocated to Baton Rouge, LA, grateful for their blessings of talent, love, and the opportunity to share with others the abundant love of Jesus Christ through their music.

Amazing Grace (Rising Sun)
A different way of presenting a traditional hymn, this time with a New Orleans flavor.

The artist has designated this song as non-chartable.

Beryl's two recent CD releases and music video competed with
the elite of the Catholic music industry in 2005 competition, sponsored by the United Catholic Music and Video Association, reaching the finals in six categories -- from nineteen original nominations. Beryl's personal music ministry evolved from a group ministry at her parish church. No stranger to public performances, as a young adult "Lady Soul" was her slogan when she was the front vocalist for her own rock band. Through the years, she simply traded a bandstand for a church altar, offering three CD's -- two full-length and a single. When Juan became involved in the creation of "Amazing Graces," he became an integral part of her music ministry - blessing it with his beautiful voice and unique percussion. With grown children, an 11-year-old granddaughter named Harmony, a 2-year-old grandson named Logan, a successful "first" career behind her, and having performed all types of music (country, rock, jazz standards, and Dixieland jazz), Beryl is taking advantage of the opportunity for a "second" career embracing her lifetime love of music. While working and raising her children, Beryl participated in a group music ministry and met her husband Juan at St. Dominic Parish in New Orleans, both of them members of the "Contemporaries" - the contemporary guitar group there. Beryl's personal music ministry was added in 1994, and she has been playing and singing solo for local weddings, funerals, baptisms, masses, and special church events ever since. After Hurricane Katrina forced their relocation from New Orleans to Baton Rouge, Beryl and Juan remained active in that group until the end of August 2006, commuting from their new Baton Rouge residence every Sunday. On September 1, 2006, they both joined the 11:30 a.m. choir at St. Jude the Apostle Church in Baton Rouge LA. With all of the activities
inherent in recovering from a major tragedy, time was lost - both in the
promotion of "Amazing Graces" and in the creation of a new CD project, which is now in the planning stages. Praise God!
