The Psychedelic Underground is the work of Alex Langfield who uses electronics and effects to create his psychedelic soundscapes. Bringing together dance influences such as The Chemical Brothers and Orbital with bands like Spiritualized, Mercury Rev and The Secret Machines, TPU create a unique, ethereal, hard hitting and intelligent sound.

Surfacing in Cumbria in 2004 TPU played breakthrough gigs at Carlisle's alternative venue the Brickyard with the likes of Let Airplanes Circle Overhead, Chikinki, The Heat and Kasabian. This cemented a place among the best acts in Cumbria.

Alex later went on to study music technology in Birmingham where he is currently stationed. The Psychedelic Underground have self released 3 EPs: The Psychedelic Underground, Beyond and Step Inside which have included some of TPUs better known tracks such as Sweet Dreams, Kill The Sun, This Would Be Us and The Seas And The Stars And The Skies.
