Previous to this the band had been known as Veter (wind) and had been performing since 1986. The name then changed to Kristobal Khunta after the reorganization of the band at the beginning of the nineties, and the style changed to one of psychedelic rock"". In 1992 the collection of songs Kricto i S was released, and in 1998, the album Solntsa parom ("" Sun the Ferry "") . The group broke up in the period between these albums and reassembled with a new line-up. The members who have remained unchanged are solo guitarist Sergey Lyaptsev, bass Alexander Lobanov, and Sergey Pasechnik on guitar and vocals. In 2001 Seredina dnya was formed In August of 2002 the album Gorod v sobstvennom vryemeni ( city in its own time) was recorded which saw the light of day in August of 2003.
