About the Band
The Last Act is breathing life into the genre "Metal Rock" . This sound is a hard rock/metal combination with a molded "old-skool" sound to it. TLA is re-inventing this style of music in a new and absolutely original result.
If you like anything on the heavier side like Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, 3 Days Grace (a bit heavier than this), Megadeth (old and new), old Metallica, old (and some new) Rush, or any of these kinds of bands chances are really good you will enjoy this band. Imagine a roughed out combination of all of these with a totally new and original sound and you got the Last Act.

A handful of Reviews:
From "Vampire Magazine" :
This Canadian band released their second album and to be honest immediately; I love it!
… In a time where music is getting more and more aggressive,
complicated and innovative it's a relief to listen to an album like this.
Everything on it seems to be perfect!
... The most remarkable element in the music seems to be the singer
… Perhaps it's normal that a first impression is been made according to the vocals, but
it is not totally fair to the other musicians. These three guys know how to rock!
… I don't understand why this band has not been contacted by any labels so far.
Is it because of today’s standards in music? In my opinion real hardrock/heavy metal
is timeless and it will always keep a certain fan share worldwide. It does not fluctuate
with mode or what is hot on one moment. So people who still have that straight
rock/metal spirit, check this band and keep your eyes on it!
From “Maximum Metal” out of the U.S. with reviewers from all over the world:
Every year I come upon a couple really great hard rock bands….With the year almost over,
The Last Act's second album provided the bookend to 2004 with 'No Good Deed Goes Unpunished'
… The rock sensibility here is so perfectly done that I'm convinced that somebody
in the band is a musical genius…
…overall The Last Act is a class hard rock act and one of my favorite
independent CDs for the year.
Broken Dawn
This is pure and driving Rock at its best.
From the opening chord, right into the verse, the level of energy is mantained and delivered very strongly.
Good fret and chord guitar work, with a solid electric sound.
Melodic and thick.
I was playing this music during the 90's and I tell you, it brought back some very good memories.
Bass playing is superb, and steady.
Drums are outstanding, great breaks, good meter and technics.
Solid and clear vocals, good harmonies and over all "in you

Loving the dive bombs!
killer lead guitar work!!! Im enjoying the tightness of it all. You remind me of alot of my favorite bands like anthrax. The vocals and lyrical style were well done. The solos sealed the whole package for me. Good sounding recording too.

Slave to the Nerve
Man i love the guitars in this song, the tone, the leads, and the rhythm were all great. The drums were top notch as well, this would be a great band to see live, sounds like there so much fun. This is a well written song, in both ways, musically, and lyrically. I cant hear anything wrong with this song, i love it..

Love the fat bass in the beginning! then the drums come in and blow me away! GREAT SOUND!!! the vocals are very strong and command attention! the structure is awesome. you even throw in some violen that is cool. very original. the leads are telling just as much as the vocals do. great break in the middle. gives perfect dynamics. POWER!! in one word. ROCK ON!!!
