The Corporate Dog (I Hate My Tie)
By Darren Lee Richardson

I’m a hard working guy
Working for the man, just putting in my time
But we, don’t see eye-to-eye
On the policy, that pushes on my style
I’m not the president; I’m not the CEO
Not upper management; I’m not part of the show
I’m just a corporate dog
CH:
I hate my tie, that’s not the way I fly
No matter how I try, all it does is tie me down
No reason why, to require this from me
Capability, does not have a corporate leash… policy… not for me
Man, just what is going down
They asked me to step in, they asked me to sit down
They said, they like the work I do
But if I don’t comply, then I just might be through
My only value’s not the color of my noose
When will they learn that this is what they should cut loose
And not the corporate dog
CH:
SOLO: (keep it short…) (CH)
Play tiny violins here’s where the whine comes in
This whacked environment is how I pay my rent
It’s not as if I want to dress up like a slob
But this requirement is mandate for my job… I kinda’ need my job…
I’m – just – a – corp – ‘rate dog…
CH
…not for me, not for me, not for me… I hate my tie…
