The cries of seagulls which I've tried to emulate in the instrumental break was what inspired me to write this tune.... did well in the blues chart here at IAC.

I'd just split with my second husband when I wrote this - I was walking at dawn and the seagull cries were so plaintive that when I returned from my walk, I sat and wrote this song.

Sit Here Dreaming
Thoughts of you running round my head,
Trying to make sense of the words we said.
I ought to miss you but I really don’t.
We need to change, but I know we won’t.
Sunshine breaks through the silvery clouds.
Seagulls cry on the wind that howls.
Snowflakes fall on the grassy dunes.
Sit here dreaming while I write this tune.
I know you love me and I love you too,
But face the truth – we haven’t a clue.
Can’t live together, can’t live apart
Try our best but then we start.
Sunshine breaks through the silvery clouds.
Seagulls cry on the wind that howls.
Snowflakes fall on the grassy dunes.
Sit here dreaming while I write this tune.
Instrumental Break
When I get back home, we’ll find a way
To stay together for another day but
Like a bird in a cage I need the light,
Spread my wings and take to flight.
Sunshine breaks through the silvery clouds.
Seagulls cry on the wind that howls.
Snowflakes fall on the grassy dunes.
Sit here dreaming while I write this tune.
