Kids These Days
They never listen, just talk talk talk
On the cell phone, about nothing
Text message, thumbs flying
And I’m all like, OMG.
Back in my day we raised families
We learned hard lessons
Drilled wells, built weapons,
Fought wars, built more weapons
Kids these days…
We spoiled ‘em, they sleep late
Won’t work, then complain
Turn off that Grand Theft Auto
Turn off that guitar hero
Their music is rubbish
And they’re all like you don’t understand
Running off to their room crying
Current mood: frowny face
Kids these days…
Can you blame them?
One fine day
They will take what you left them
And throw it away
Some day soon
They’ll inherit your debts
And dance on your grave
They ignore me, they don’t care
All that came before
They don’t care what comes next
All our hard work, all this progress
So we left them a few problems
So we haven’t tried to solve them
It’s not like our failure
Is the end of the world
Kids these days…
Can you blame them?
