Folk/Country/Pop song about Joan of Arc. Slightly paraphrasing her own words.

Always wanted to write a song about Joan of Arc as her story is still very interesting. Not here to judge whether she was a saint or a xenophobic war-mongerer. She was unquestionably brave and highly intelligent. It was pointed out to me that this song might have a context outside of the subject which if that is how others interpret it is fine too.

SOLDIER
I WAS BORN A SOLDIER AND MY ARMOUR IS LOVE, THIS DAY OVER
TOMORROW SHALL WE BE STRONG ENOUGH
WILL YOU ALWAYS BE MY LOVE
WILL YOU ALWAYS BE MY LOVE
WILL YOU ALWAYS BE MY LOVE, FROM THE FIRST TIME THAT I FELT YOU
SPEAK JUST TO ME
I WAS BORN A CAPTAIN AND SHOULD HEAVEN ALLOW THIS DAY OVER
TOMORROW SHALL BE HUNG FROM THE CLOUDS
WILL YOU ALWAYS BE MY LOVE
WILL YOU ALWAYS BE MY LOVE
WILL YOU ALWAYS BE MY LOVE, FROM THE FIRST TIME THAT I FELT YOU
SPEAK JUST TO ME
YOU MAY BUILD YOUR FIRE YET YOU SET ME ON HIGH
CLOSER TO THE HEAVENS SHALL I BE THERE TONIGHT
WILL YOU ALWAYS BE MY LOVE
WILL YOU ALWAYS BE MY LOVE
WILL YOU ALWAYS BE MY LOVE, FROM THE FIRST TIME THAT I FELT YOU
SPEAK JUST TO ME
