A song about the most beautiful beach in the world and right here in Scotland
I discovered this magical place while on a long distance walk from Fort William to Caope Wrath and was inspired to write a these words for this magical place.
SANDWOOD BAY
I saw the sunset as I strolled alone on Sandwood bay
Your elusive charm and beauty seems a million miles away
I wondered at your magic in those days of long ago
And the folk who used to live there must have marvelled at it so.
Chorus
Sandwood Bay O Sandwood Bay the Secret of the North
Your wild deserted beaches your dancing swirling surf
Sandwood Bay O Sandwod Bay your dunes of sparkling sands
No better place in Scotland or in any foreign Lands
No need to find a paradise on far off distant shore
You have it all before you how could we ask for more
My passing by was brief and brought the closing of the day,
But the pleasure of your magic still lingers on today.
I won’t forget your beauty and the comfort that you gave
As I walked along your lonely shore and watched the crashing wave
No other soul but me that day to enjoy that moment rare
That wondrous day was mine alone with no one else to share.
