I was watching the Super Bowl and saw Christina make a mistake on the national anthem. Later there was a big media blitz with interviews of so many people who were angry that she had forgotten her place/words in the song. As I sat there stumped by the so called "critics". I said to myself jeesh, what's the big deal? Everybody makes mistakes. That's when I got the idea for this song.

There was a time that I walked with a limp, there was a time that I thought like a pimp
There was a time that I'd lie and would steal, even a time that I thought that I could kill
There was a time I was ruthless, I'd knock of fool on his back and leave him toothless
I had a need to be in charge and control, I didn't give a damn cause I was straight up from a rat hole
But everybody gets a chance to learn, and make a change before they reap what they earn
And change a wrong to right before they get burned, and leave a sin and vow to never return
And I was smart enough to change my own fate, and to admit that I had made some mistakes
I guess that's how it is in life, we all did some bad things cause everybody makes mistakes

There was a time that I started to see, all of the things I really wanted to be
There was a time that I started to work, to help another who was broken and hurt
There came a time I had obsessions, about the need to fight against oppression
I had a mission to save all the lost, I went into the prison with a book and a cross
Cause everybody gets a chance to choose, to get with this or that and to win or to lose
To be reformed or live like a fool, to turn from hate so the spirit can bloom
To be redeemed and change their own fate, and to admit that they made some mistakes
I guess that's how it is in life, we all have the right to change cause everybody makes mistakes

Nobody is clean, everybody has done something
And nobody can say, their innocent cause everyone has made mistakes
All of the Christians and all of the Jews, even the judges and all the accused
Every preacher and people who teach, even the doctors who give us relief
Actors and singers and people with fame, all of the baller's who win many games
Mothers and fathers, the gay's and the straights everybody has made some mistakes
Everybody makes mistakes, everyone has been a sinner
Which one of y'all wants to cast the first stone huh?
