The song is about a child who's father took him to a relatives house and promised he would be back to pick him up in two weeks. But the father never returned and the relative was certifiably psychotic and violently abusive. So, year after year the child pryas that some day his father will come back anbd rescue him from the abuse. He was my father and he left me and my brother in a place that he knew was dangerous and could possibly lead to our extermination.

Come rescue me, come rescue me
Come rescue me, come rescue me
You we’re the one I believed, you were my hero
But then you lied to me, said you would be back to get me
Each day I cried for you, until I couldn’t cry
When daily beatings were through, inside, my heart cried for you to
Come rescue me, come rescue me
Come rescue me, come rescue me
How could you leave that way, how could you abandon us
Go somewhere else and stay, replacing us, and never come back
You never beat me down, or physically hurt me
But you were responsible, for me and left me pray that you
Come rescue me, come rescue me
Come rescue me, come rescue me
From the belts and the chords, from the scary sleepless nights
From the torture and the words, that made me try to end my own life
From the scars and the blood, and the vomit I was forced to eat
From the streets where I ran away, From the truth of how you never came
Come rescue me, come rescue me
Come rescue me, come rescue me
