Worldwide blues icon and artist Bumble Bee Bob and his band The Stingers take you on a journey into the realm of the real deal. This is what Chicago Blues is all about. Recorded many moons ago in the analog era this track has been uncovered, revived and presented here for your enjoyment. No brainer...no nonsense blues. Check your elitism at the door.
"Bumble Bee" Bob Novak is an artist and blues musician, who once collaborated with Humble Pie (which included Peter Frampton). A native of Chicago, Bob Novak grew up on the west side of town. With his street wise approach to life and his Fender Stratocaster, Bob made his move into the Chicago music scene. It was while he was playing in the clubs that he received his nickname "Bumble Bee" Bob from blues legend Sunnyland Slim. Sunny said Bob made his Strat create the hottest stinging sound he ever heard, and tagged him with the name Bumble Bee, which Bob now happily goes by. Over the years Bumble Bee has jammed with the greatest blues men of our time such as Muddy Waters, Big Walter Horton, Little Walter, Buddy Guy and Jr. Wells. Bumble Bee's talents are not limited to music. His rich and colorful paintings depict the character, feel and uniqueness of Blues and Jazz. He was commissioned for the Chicago 's '89 Blues Festival official posters, '94 Chicago Jazz Festival, the '95 Copenhagen Blues Festival and the '99 Rosa's Lounge Chicago Blues Festival special edition T-shirt and poster. His artwork is displayed at many of the finest art galleries across the country.
