Here’s another new one straight from rockin’ our house to rockin’ yours!!….
I am indeed a lucky musician (and husband) cause no matter what kind of melody I come up with, my lovely and talented wife Trudi (Peenie86) usually has a lyric that will match it… As is usually the case with one of Trudi’s creations, there is a definite story in this lyric. But this one definitely leaves a little to the imagination….Also, in this case, I am a lucky musician (and father) because this tune features my #1 son Derek on yet another killer vocal.
I did the first two ‘frantic’ solo breaks here but enlisted the talents of the VERY talented Norman Goodman to pitch-in on the final ‘outro’ guitar solo…and he delivered a beauty! Make sure to stick around to the end of this one to catch ‘His Norman-ness’ deliver a blistering coda…
As always, thank so much for listening!!

Willow Weeps
Words: J. Southerland & T. Southerland
Music: J. Southerland
Verse One
Broken vows…
In secret rooms…
Pave the way…
To unknown tombs…
Hidden ways…
And unknown paths
Take their love…
Away at last…
Chorus
Under shadows of the moon…
With the crying of a loon…
For the secrets she keeps…
The willow weeps
Verse Two
Shattered dreams…
Bring empty pleas…
Desperation…
On bended knees…
Forbidden love…
Weighs them down…
With secrets deep…
On sacred ground …
Chorus
Under shadows of the moon…
With the crying of a loon…
For the secrets she keeps…
The willow weeps
Verse Three
Blackened coins…
On reddened shores…
Carry souls…
Through burning doors…
Scattered leaves…
Hide bloody tales…
Lost in time…
The banshee wails …
Chorus
Under shadows of the moon…
With the crying of a loon…
For the secrets she keeps…
The widow weeps
