A slow-tempo ballad.

I had a great friend who was also a great musician, composer and arranger. He died suddenly a few years back. He and I grew up together musically and wrote a lot of music together. I still think of him when I'm composing.

So many songs remain unsung
So many tears untried
So many strings remain unstrung
So many dreams untried
Since you've gone
I've had to learn to carry on
But, you are there
Every time I write a song
Since you've gone
There's no light to look upon
In your eye was
Another world beyond
Since you've gone, since you've gone
Some of the songs
I can't remember
And some I just can't play
But, deep in my heart
There's a burning ember
That can never pass away
Since you've gone
I'll have to learn to carry on
But, you are there
Every time I write a song
Since you've gone
There's no light to look upon
In your eye was
Another world beyond
Since you've gone, since you've gone
