Kind of a 1960's Faron Young kind of song.

Based on a night where I was walking the streets at 3am looking for someone to party with, all my friends were asleep, so I wound up talking to an old horse in his corral - the only creature awake at that hour and he came over to the fence and kept me company.

I AIN’T THROUGH DRINKING YET 3-13-07 BY Art Priebe
Well I found my way downtown today to find a little cheer
And try to drown my sorrows in a friendly atmosphere
Those last words that she told me as she left me way back when
Still burn inside so I must try to drown them once again
As the years go by I watch the guys I used to hang around
Get good jobs and find new loves and fin’lly settle down
But I’m still lost inside this world of pain and old regrets
Now the bars are closed, but the good Lord knows, I can’t go home just yet
CHORUS
So turn your light on my old friend, and open up your door
‘Cause the night’s too young, I need someone to party like before
When we would start a brand new day each time the sun would set
So share with me your company, ‘cause I ain’t through drinking yet
Each dark and silent house I see just makes me feel so old
If no one’s home I guess I’ll roam these streets out in the cold
‘Cause I can’t put my heart to bed ‘til there’s no pain in sight
I need to find someone who’s kind to drink with me tonight
CHORUS
So turn your light on my old friend, and open up your door
‘Cause the night’s too young, I need someone to party like before
When we would start a brand new day each time the sun would set
So share with me your company, ‘cause I ain’t through drinking yet
So share with me your company, ‘cause I ain’t through drinking yet
