What happens in Vegas... rarely stays in Vegas. Lily is a fun dance-able Alt-Country song about the modern American adulterer.

I wrote this song after a particularly heinous couple nights in Las Vegas. It is about waking up after the wild night and becoming lucid to the reality of your life... but ignoring it.

In the morning, I got a pretty good start
I'm not the best with the words but I got a big heart
I rolled over, luckily my jeans beside the bed
I rolled back, kissed the girl on her head... Good-bye
She was only wearing a smile so I remember it was hard to say good-bye
but I did it... oh Lily don't cry
Chaka Khan filled the hallways of the casino
I made my way from the room to the camino
I'm a stranger in a strange world
This Las Vegas is a circus as I'm sure you've heard
So good-bye to that girl in room eleven twenty five
Good-bye... oh Lily don't cry
Out the door and out in the parking lot
The day gets simpler, just try and get out of the hot
Crack the window, get out on the highway
Barstow in an hour then I'm on to L.A.
Faster then lightning, come on baby you can win
Leaving is easy when you're leaving the city of sin
Back home, I'll draw a picture for yah
A backyard barbecue with a wife and a daughter
This is life in L.A. my friend and I'll do what I want
Again and again and again, cause I'm an American
oh I'm sure Lily doesn't mind... Oh until maybe next time
Lily gets me on the phone, says "I don't want to cry no more!"
"I'm tired of you going back to your wife and treating me like a whore"
So I said...
Faster then lightning, come on baby you can win
Leaving is easy when you're leaving the city of sin
Faster then lightning, come on baby you can win
Leaving is easy when you're leaving the city of sin
