It's the rustle of the leaves as they fall from the trees
that keep the ants up and running but it bothers the bees
the life we lead is such a busy game
While the farmer is collecting the last of the crop
the sailor is-a-tying all the lines to the dock
the children feeling restless run to play
When the fall comes around
we can dance upon the leaves, like the waves upon the seas
when the fall comes around, we can sing
It's the solitary sound that sinks in the snow
while a gaggle of geese say goodbye to the crow
the life we lead is such a lonely game
while the farmer starts a fire to attempt to stay warm
the sailor battens down the hatches to prepare for the storm
the children feeling restless run to play
When the winter comes around
we can dance upon the snow, singing songs that we all know
when the winter comes around, we can sing
The ants helped the bumble bees get through the cold
but nobody knows what's become of the crow
the farmer starts planting the seeds in the ground
the sailor's ship hasn't quite yet run aground
with our spirits and sails and sun up high
we can put out our hands and open our eyes
its spring! we can sing
When the summer comes around
we can dance beneath the sun, catching up with everyone
when the summer comes around, we can sing
