Acoustic ballad with a country tinge. I guess if I was American it could have a fully fledged country treatment.

A love song for my wife who says I only write songs about bad women and bad things happening. Writing a love song is not a problem. 90% of songs out there take love as their subject. Writing a true song with genuine emotion is the hard part. This song is about getting past the cliches and finding a more honest honest way to say 'I love you'.

We sat on the beach, you were counting the clouds
And you said, look at the sky, look at the sea,
It's been a while since you told me you loved me
So write me a song to tell me how you feel'
And I sang
My love is bigger than the sky
And my love is higher than those mountains
My love is wider, deeper than the ocean blue and my love for you will last forever.
You smiled, then laughed and kissed my mouth
But I said 'forget the sky, forget the sea
Forget the mountains and the ocean blue
Cos' that's not the way it feels to me'
So I sang
My love is small so it fits here inside
And my love is quiet so I can hear you call
And I don't know if love can last forever
So I'll just love you 'til the day I die
Yes, I'll love you 'til the day I die
I don't want a song that's full of cliches
I just want a song to tell the truth
Forget the sky, forget the sea
but remember the way it feels to me...
My love is small so it fits here inside
And my love is quiet so I can hear you call
And I don't know if love can last forever
So I'll just love you till the day I die
Yes, I'll love you 'til the day I die
Yes, I'll love you 'til the day I die
I love you
