Faith in desparate times

I wrote this song out my friend Panther's experience as a Sudanese refugee. He is one of "The Lost Boys Of Sudan."

Many miles we've travelled thru the desert without rest
The enemy is closing in, there's danger up ahead.
The ones we love are falling on our left and on our right
But we must go on, We must go on
We don't know how, we don't know why.
We can't seem to make any sense of the pain in our lives
But when we call, we know you hear
So we are waiting on you Lord cause we believe
You promised you would lead us thru the valley of death,
You've prepared a place for us, but we can't see it yet
Some say you've forgotten us, we don't know where to turn
But we must go on, oh we must go on
We don't know how, we don't know why.
We can't seem to make any sense of the pain in our lives
But when we call, we know you hear
So we are waiting on you Lord cause we believe
We belive your promises are true, and you will never leave us alone.
And as we weep, your heart is breaking too
But one day these tears will be gone...
We don't know how, we don't know why.
We can't seem to make any sense of the pain in our lives
But when we call, we know you hear
So we are waiting on you Lord cause we believe....
