The musical story of an abandoned puppy found beside the road in a snowstorm, brought home, cleaned up and a tiny bell is attached to his tail. His new teenager master names him.

Musid and lyrics by Dan Reed

See above.
Daddy found him by the road two Christmas eve's ago
All alone and shivering, covered up with snow
When mama first laid eyes on him she said her heart near broke
But she washed him up and dried him off then she did her little joke
Upon that puppy's tail my mama tied a tiny bell
And if it bothered that sweet dog no one could ever tell
Each time he's wag his little tail there'd be a tinkly sound
He'd cock his head and listen, then he'd chase his tail around

Tinkletail, oh tinkletail, what a sight to see
Spinning 'round in circles, 'neath the Christmas tree
His whereabouts are never secret he can't hide heaven knows
'Cause he's followed by a tinkly jingle everywhere he goes

When I woke up that Christmas morn, I heard that bell a ringin'
And when I saw that little dog, it set my heart to singin'
He jumped into my arms just like we'd never been apart
He wagged his tail and tinkled his way right into my heart

He gave me a puppy kiss, dad said,"Ain't that a sight!"
"Whatcha gonna call that dog? Rover don't seem right.
and names like "Spot" and "Fido" just somehow seem to fail."
I said, "Daddy, just one name will do. His name is 'Tinkletail'

(Repeat of Chorus here)

There's a tinkly jingle everywhere he goes!
