Acoustic based song, inspired by what I thought was a song by Frightened Rabbit. Turns out they didn't have a song anything like that, but I came up with this, and so far it's a fan favourite.
All music written, recorded and performed by Dave Pike.
Zilla is a metaphor, sounding on the surface like a song about a huge "godzilla" type monster having second thoughts about destroying a city, and really just wants the city to love him. The metaphor is for a relationship between two people, the main character of the song, the 'godzilla' is the angry party in an argument between lovers, getting very angry at the situation, but not really wanting to explode and 'wreck the city', the city being the other party in the relationship.
I'm a hundred feet high and I'm changing my mind
I don't wanna wreck the city tonight
Just another giant wrapped up in his height
I don't wanna wreck the city tonight
I'm scaring the citizens I'm scaring myself
I want the city to love me tonight
Please come back let's talk this out
I want the city to love me tonight x
