Another Intervention
words and music copyright 2008 by Jim Walsh
The kids are growing
There's a cold wind blowing
Across the frozen fields
Where your passions used to bloom
Just like Wildflowers
The clock keeps ticking
And the storm clouds thicken
Beating back the sun that used to feed
Feed the Wildflowers
Holding onto pretty by just a thread
Tomorrow you're forty, next week you're dead
Playing the party girl until the end
Until the bury you
In the Wildflowers
Your eyes once glowing
Now bloodshot and showing
Growing fear of the rising tide
That's gonna drown
My Wildflower
Not even a hint
Of a rose colored tint
To the glasses I'm looking through
Truth is you're spun
And it ain't coming undone
I'm finally seeing you true
Like others do
You had something so fine
But you left it behind
Somewhere back down the line
You were someone so fine
You left yourself behind
Somewhere back down the line
