Just because it is a pretty lie, it don't mean you can't live it

PENNY'S PARLOUR
This town has a lot to remember
And a lot to forget
Floating down breeze, an ember
In the courtyard to set
And the storm will be breaking tonight
The judge and the jury know
All doubt will be set aside
When the river begins to flow
It's been hot for the season
Hope it's not for too long
Lest my mind turn to treason
Lest your heart turn to stone
And the storm will be breaking tonight
Collect your cards, don't be slow
Baby you best be inside
When the river begins to flow
On Penny's Parlour, a sign
For all to read it
Just because it is a pretty lie
It don't mean you can't live it
And the storm will be breaking tonight
The priest and the engineer go
To try to keep the town dry
When the river begins to flow
