SAVING GRACE
When I was a young boy
There was no time to relax
I was a hungry rebel
From the wrong side of the tracks
As I've gotten older
I've learnt to stop and pray
To look up and be thankful
For the simple things each day
So here's to the sunshine that streams down from the sky
And the beauty of this country, north to south and side to side
Yeah, here's to the cool rain that splashes on my face
And here's to you girl, you are my saving grace
I wandered through this wide land
Guitar strapped to my back
Though I had my freedom
There was something that I lacked
Until the day I found you
Way out in the west
And from that fateful moment
I knew that I'd been blessed
So here's to the sunshine that streams down from the sky
And the beauty of this country, north to south and side to side
Yeah, here's to the cool rain that splashes on my face
And here's to you girl, you are my saving grace
Now I have my own boy
I teach him to realise
That all the very best things
Are right before your eyes
So here's to the sunshine that streams down from the sky
And the beauty of this country, north to south and side to side
Yeah, here's to the cool rain that splashes on my face
And here's to you girl, you are my saving grace
Yeah And here's to you girl, you are my saving grace
