THE MULL OF TYRONE /A BANSHEE'S SUMMONS

I am come, I am come here
From the mountain so unknown
For the land here I have quitted
From the Mull of Tyrone

I have left from yon starry sphere
To sing my dirge in a mortal's ear
UliIu, morning comes fast
A soul will speed 'ere moonlight's past

I am come, as I came before
To thy sires in the days of yore
Ulilu, thou must go now
To the Mull of Tyrone

Hast thou called tears to the widow's eye?
And in vain heard orphans cry?
Hast thou driven the hungry from thy door?
Or taken rooves from the starving poor?

Ulilu, take the cost!
Ye mourners weep, for a soul is lost!

Or did thou strive for the good of all?
Did danger daunt not, nor death appal?
Ulilu, the earth must now moan
But heaven's angels record the poem
On the Mull of Tyrone
On the Mull of Tyrone
On the Mull of Tyrone
On the Mull of Tyrone
