HELLO
Paying in the supermarket late at night
I like to go there then cos it's nice and quiet
I hear a noise by the grocery scan
So I look behind me and there you stand
[Hello! How you doing?]
The morning comes with a pretty glow
And so I step outside and whaddaya you know?
There's a van parked near my door
It's the same one I saw just the day before
You're sitting there in that pile of junk
With three fender benders and two headlights on
One McMuffin in your sweaty hand
I never knew you were such a fan
[Hello! Long time, no see! Can I help you with anything? How's your McMuffin?]
Out with my dog on our daily roam
Strolling by the river but we're not alone
There you are at the bush lookout
Tryna look real busy with your knife and trout
I watch my team on the weekend and
You're two rows up in the grandstand
And you're sitting at the bus stop after the game
With brolly up cos it's starting to rain
[Hello! Fancy seeing you here. Ah, nice weather. Well, goodbye.]
I'm out and about at 4am
Walking outside for some fresh air
A door yanks open and I see a grin
You're standing there cos you just moved in
[Hello! I guess we're neighbours now. Great! Hello!]
