M.E.G.A.N. SAVIOUR
[Where's M.E.G.A.N.?]
[She's powered herself down again, why?]
[We just got an S.O.S. from K.A.R.L.. A piece of advance debris from the asteroid has just struck Space Laser Satellite 3 hard. The satellite's still intact but K.A.R.L.'s sustained some damage from the shock wave. The President wants an urgent damage assessment report]
[I'm right on it! K.A.R.L., K.A.R.L., do you read me? Can you give me your current status?]
There's damage to my core
And I can't move too well at all
My power's running very low
And my battery pack is fading fast
Save me, I am dying
All alone here in outer space
And I don't know if you
Can send the help I need
In time, in time
In time, in time
In time
[Hang in there K.A.R.L., help is on its way! Are you still able to operate the laser?]
My computing is still good
And my targeting is working fine
But I can't move my firing hands
And the asteroid's bearing down real fast
Save me, I am dying
All alone here in outer space
And I don't know if you
Can send the help I need
In time, in time
In time, in time
In time
[Help him? But what can we do?]
[The back up rocket from the original launch is still at Cape Canaveral. We can send M.E.G.A.N. up there with another battery pack. K.A.R.L. verbally relays the targeting info, M.E.G.A.N. operates the laser controls]
[Great! I'll let the President know]
[Did I hear my name mentioned? Hey, what's the matter?]
[K.A.R.L.'s been damaged. We need to send you up there right away]
[Damaged?! Can I talk to him?]
[Yeah but be quick. There's no time to lose!]
[K.A.R.L., can you hear me?]
[M.E.G.A.N., I'm damaged]
[Oh K.A.R.L.!]
Hold on, I am coming
And everything will be all right
I promise to you
That I'll be there real soon
Hold on, hold on
Hold on, hold on
Hold on
My K.A.R.L.
[The President's just ordered the back up rocket to the readied ASAP! How much time do we have?]
[By the time we get M.E.G.A.N. launched, and allowing for travelling time, they'll have about 20 minutes to destroy the asteroid before it gets too close to Earth].
[OK, let's go!]
