The Trip Poppies was conceived in 2008 by Greg Samuelson and Dez Hoy, both graduates from the Southern Cross University School of Contemporary Music in Lismore, Australia. Influence wise we are ecletic, from folk rock and retro rock to ballads with distinct R&B flavourings. Our debut album 'Still Living in the Garden of Eden", was released in February 2010. Helping us on the album were: Andy Jans Brown - lead vocals Sonia Leeson - backing vocals Dan Brown - bass/keys Toby Davies - guitars Matthew Guliford - guitars David Stuart - lead vocals/guitars Jamie Pattugalan - drums/percussion The Trip Poppies track "Everything's Beautiful" won best Adult Contemporary song at the 2009 Dolphin Awards (run by the North Coast Entertainment Industry Alliance-NSW Australia). We believe in our music and believe it has the potential to reach a wide audience.
