You've been waiting for so long

FOR SO LONG
Some people grasp up the greasy rungs
They fill the hour, they fill the day
Speaking words in a foreign tongue
They didn't mean to say
Some people move in the maddening crowd
They sniff the salt, they sniff the wind
Wiping blood from a drifter's brow
They didn't mean to lynch
And I see you crouching down
And that look in your eye
You've been waiting for so long
But it's been written, without a doubt
You're gonna be waiting a whole lot longer
Some people talk the upstanding walk
They sip their cream, they sip their tea
Turning round from a beggar's bowl
They didn't mean to see
And I see you crouching down
And that look in your eye
You've been waiting for so long
But it's been written, without a doubt
You're gonna be waiting a whole lot longer
Some have a mask only taken off
To brush their hair, to brush their teeth
Ending up looking at someone
They didn't mean to be
And I see you crouching down
And that look in your eye
You've been waiting for so long
But it's been written, without a doubt
You're gonna be waiting a whole lot longer
