Hard Rock with a Heavy Groove.

How many times have we heard it, when we boys acted like a pack of heathens: “Well, you know how it is…boys will be boys.”? This song takes that saying to the next level. It follows the tenet of the “self-fulfilling prophecy”…prophecy fulfilled to the extreme. Look around, you’ll see it has already been fulfilled for centuries.
We, also, like to think that the groove of the song maintains the urban/street theme.

We cry: “No more war!
All this bloodshed is insane!”
Yet, we raise Fubu-Wutang soldiers
And pour them down our streets like rain
Switchblades replace bayonets
22s for M-16s
Gold capped teeth are their medals
As they lay conquest and they’re only 13.
“Make love, not war!”, we demand
While we murder when we pray
Even with our buddies
We practice “War” while we play
‘Cause one must ‘win’ and one ‘lose’
One must ‘dominate’ and one ‘serve’
And if we can’t take him on ourself
We can call in our Family Reserve.
So, face it mothers, accept it wives
Your men are a bloody lot
And as long as “Boys will be boys”, they’ll be boys
And they will kill to get more than they’ve got.
Preachers teach the Utopian Peace
Minstrels sing of eternal love
But even they have raised the gun
When the push came down to shove
And businessmen?-Hah!-what a cold-hearted crew
Who slay with their money and lies
The countdown of their death toll lays
In the unemployment lines.
So, now I ask you: “When two nations collide
War being declared
Where is there any difference
Then a rumble ‘neath the neon’s glare
Politicians, state your challenge
Poets, pen your cleansing floods
The truth is: Men will establish themselves
Baptized in another man’s blood!
So, face it mothers, accept it wives
Your men are a bloody lot
And as long as “Boys will be boys”, they’ll be boys
Yeah, they will kill to get more than they’ve got.
