"Saw It on TV" is an up tempo song about "reality" TV, set against the singer's real life.

song by Rolf Pearson

One day, the singer appears from his guitar mancave and turns on the TV. He sees a bewildering parade of giant fish with razor teeth, duck kings, catfighting wives and even bigfoot. Now he is not sure which is reality!
I saw it on TV- giant fish with razor teeth coming after me.
I’m not going outside. Eyeball eating English dudes will make me nibble eyes.
There are bigfoot chasing housewives having catfights over wine.
While toddler queens and hip hop wives do makeovers divine.

I thought that I knew what is reality.
Good thing I took some time and checked out my TV.
I thought that everything was fine. Now I know that isn’t true.
Now I need some night vision goggles and bigfoot trap or two.

I saw it on TV- hot rods full of duck kings honkin’ after me
If I go out alone, they might have a crazy gypsy wedding in my home.
Spike headed cupcake chefs search for Yukon gold.
While swamp people and hoarders are starting to revolt

I thought that I knew what is reality.
Good thing I took some time and checked out my TV.
If I didn’t watch TV, think of what I’d miss.
Someone told me last year, there was an apocalypse.

On one channel they’re trying to resurrect dead socialists.
On the other channel they think the president’s a Muslim terrorist.

I saw it on TV- they’re cutting down giant trees like that’s a discovery.
It don’t make sense to me. Shooting some gator is what they call history.
If these people get engaged, then they win a prize.
While three-year-olds in miniskirts shake their booties for the guys.

I thought that I knew what is reality.
Good thing I took some time and checked out my TV.
If I didn’t watch TV, think of what I’d miss.
I wasn’t watching last year and missed an apocalypse.
Oh, I missed an apocalypse.
