There was one republic that presumed to get it right
Took care of all free counties they were decent in their might
A peaceful change of power was a given in that day
The people voted for a man who'd take it all away
Was he born to bring destruction to democracy? indeed
A gathering of patriots hoped he would not succeed
He held a bible up as he lied with every breath
conniving from his essence, his inept plans had such depth
The man who hugged the flag, he wasn't on our team
Kept Mein Kamft by his bedside formulating power dreams
We witnessed his dementia every day on cable news
His Big Lie was just golden to the ones who he confused
The Meadows all around him became part of his affair
Started almost innocent, how did they end up there
Selling out their honor for a bigger taste of him
The bowels of such corruption only started as a whim
The man who hugged the flag thought the country was himself
Our secrets were his property, he kept them on his shelf
He grifted all his true believers in and out the door
and every single moment we knew who he did that for
Manipulate the constitution til it's just a sieve
Now behold this dark void, uh, the laws by which we live
Truth became subjective when the Carlsons did their bit
Those who saw things clearly would begin to lose their wit
Good people left to doubt we'll ever see the end of it
Everyone's still talkin bout the man who hugged the flag
the pied piper they all followed even after he got snagged
He patronized those people, sought dictators as his friends
and the hell he brought America, my god it never ends
