Take me back to Italy
where you bared your soul to me
Take me back and set me free forever
We can wander through the hills
shed our worldly veils and frills
You and me in Italy forever
There's a villa that is hidden
Earthly mantles are forbidden
Eyes wide open, no illusion
There's a pool of fragrant water
Nature's son and Heaven's daughter
Float away the mystery and confusion
Take me back to Tuscany
wine and fruit and scenery
Grassy slopes defy the sea forever
We will never see a soul
Through the valleys we will roll
With a love we can't control forever
On a cliffside, houses clinging
as we watch the seagulls winging
Days bring sun and nights bring passion
I will cook and bring you flowers
You (I) will play guitar for hours
What better life could we ever fashion?
