Gill Newlyn wrote the main melody for this song. In the summer time we play in a bar in town and we'd often be asked for 'Wild Mountain Thyme'. Instead of repeating the melody for the instrumental break Gill wrote her own tune and this is it turned into a song.

when the darkening wind starts to wear you down
and the cold in the stone is falling skyward
dream of the time still to come
when the days of the strengthening sun
come around again
we silently fly the zodiac sky
when the stars cut your eyes with a diamond blade
and the teeth in the gale are tearing through you
when the world turns away from the sun
the journey to light has begun
to come around again
we silently fly the zodiac sky
when the drag of the day starts to draw you down
and the truth in your smile is slowly fading
remember there is no disguise
for the power of the light in your eyes
it will shine again
we silently fly the zodiac sky
