A Silent Farewell
Four o`clock in the mornin`, and it looks like you don`t care
I can`t believe it`s come to this, I don’t see you anywhere
So I pack my suitcase slowly and I kiss this room goodbye
Tears are in my eyes now, but you`ll never see me cry…
`Cause I don`t, understand
No I just don`t, understand
What you did to me…
I hung out in the hallway, and I made my presence known
And even though I coughed a bit, you left me on my own
So I opened up the door, that led to our demise
And I turned around, to not a sound, no I never saw your eyes
I walked out to the darkness, it felt so incomplete
As I waited for my cab to come, on the corner of your street
And I stared to where you lay, in the silence of your room
I felt just like the headstone to a lost and lonely tomb…
It`s a silent farewell
Just a silent farewell
It`s a silent farewell
Just a silent farewell…
So now the hour has come, in a moment I`ll be gone
The time we had together, was it really all that wrong?
Not a shadow, not a flicker, not a sound from where you lie
Not a token of what`s broken, not a farewell wave goodbye!
Downtown in the station, for that early morning` train
There`s a ghost that walks beside me now, to the airport and the plane
And I felt confused and helpless, for reasons never known
`Cause halfway `round the world somewhere, you left me on my own…
`Cause I don`t, understand
No I just don`t, understand
`Cause I don`t, understand
No I just don`t, understand…
It`s a silent farewell
Just a silent farewell
It`s a silent farewell
Just a silent farewell…
