Four gray walls surround me,
Big hillbilly guard been pickin’ on me
Got a fast talkin’ lawyer tryin’ to make my bail
Don’t know what the hell I’m doin’ in this here county jail
But I’m doin’ time—oh time
Got to keep myself in line
In this here county jail
Last night I stopped for gas while passin’ thru
I ran into the local red-neck crew
They said I was an un-welcomed sight
I’d better put em’ up and get ready to fight
The instigator was the sheriffs own son
He pulled a knife and at me he lounged
Like no fool I move to the side
Watched him cut himself with his own damm knife
Now I’m sittin’ in this here county jail
Waitin’ for someone to make my bail
If I ever get out of this jail alive
I’ll stay clear of this town off interstate 65
