I wrote this song in May 2018 while my Dad was in ICU, about a week before he died. He had a couple days of clarity and after he came to he asked me to call his Ex-Wife (my mother), this was all he ask for - he just wanted to make sure she was doing okay! They had been divorced for 40 years at this point and that's all he cared about was checking on her. After he finished his phone call to my mother he was exhausted and fell asleep. I wrote this song at that point and then cried for some time. Seeing how deeply he loved her and it still was not enough to keep them together. It was heart breaking on many levels.
