The story of the life and death of Anna Frank
|
Anna Frank is gone
But her spirit lives on and on
Like an Angel sent from above
Was so full of hope and love
Sent to earth to show the way
She always smiled come what may
Told Kitty and us secrets of her heart
They were friends for life and never would part
Through 2 years together they would stay
They’d be side by side till her dying day
Anna Frank is gone
But her spirit lives on and on
She first wrote as a child, 13 to the day
Much more than a child, wiser in many ways
She wrote from deep within, from inside her soul
Her words rang so true, to inform and console
I been to her house, I been in her room
Hid behind the bookcase like a tomb
Storm clouds and thunder blew in from the East
Anna longed for the day of sunshine and peace
Anna Frank is gone
But her spirit lives on and on
You were the small sister that I never had
When I heard you had gone I felt so sad
They caged your body but not your soul
But the hunger and disease took its toil
You are the reason that I am here
And all the others who perished there
No-one can repay the debt we feel
No-one can make the scars inside heal
If words have wings and forever fly
I know Anna’s watching above from the skies
If words have wings and forever fly
I know Anna’s watching above from the skies
Anna Frank is gone
But her spirit lives on and on
Anna Frank is gone
But her spirit lives on and on
Anna Frank is gone
But her spirit lives on and on
