Little Girl Lost, trapped in the woods
Everyone fears you are bereft
At mercy's door with innocence fragile
And bare but a hope of succour or care
Fleeing in fear of wolves in the dark
That savour the flavour of virginal hearts
Or lascivious huntsmen hiding in thickets
Wanting to feast upon tenderest flesh
From this a shield of sympathy formed
So none may defile her sweet countenance
Or sully her honour with taint or defame
In matters of heart, love, or desire
Creating an army of blind adherents
Protecting her from yolks of consequence
Tethering whoever she may engage
From claiming reproach at her affectations
But Little Girl Lost a secret I know
A closeted truth beguiled in your eyes
The encroaching forest is of your design
Wherein all creatures and maleficent curs
Are actors portraying roles delegated
To trap unsuspecting and weather worn suitors
Turning them victim to your dark intent
That you’ll thence attest victimhood to
For now deception is an intimate friend
Aiding you in satisfying your needs
As trusting to fate never sufficed
Leaving you devoid of affectional bonds
So in response to threat of isolation
You donned a cloak of alluring abstraction
A feint conceived to conceal vulnerability
Appeasing desires for control and security
So if you should happen upon Little Girl Lost
Be not enamoured of her child like demeanour
Look you beyond to her black carapace
To spy ensnared souls of preceding lovers
Thus seeing clearly the truth of her guise
Heed yee not ensuing hue and cry
Continue your journey without second thought
So to find safer, more welcoming, ports
Then from this vantage raze up a beacon
A signal for those who may travel this road
Let it serve notice from mountain to meadow
Dissipating mists enshrouding her ways
Then Little Girl Lost your days will be ended
Of devouring souls of the lovelorn
Also will your licentious games be aborted
So your mire will no longer corrupt this land
