I’ll Bend the rules
©By Ruth Garnes 2019
What can I do to get back into your grace?
Not to make my actions (A) ok,
Or to save face and make all wrongs fade.
But so that things would be great between us.
I’m asking forgiveness for decades of wrongs.
If I failed to act or I didn’t take a stand.
I’ll gladly embrace your passion.
And I’ll do all I should’ve done.
As many images that were to move me to care.
I like others missed those messages, but no more.
I’ll bend the rules; I’ll bend the rules.
Year after year, I’ll do that for you.
I’ll bend the rules; I’ll bend the rules.
Out of love not because I need to.
I’ll bend the rules; I’ll bend the rules.
‘Til everybody knows you’re my desire.
I’ll bend the rules: I’ll bend the rules.
Taking on all that may seem as being weird.
All that’s still the handiwork of God.
I’ll melt away your daily fears.
I’ll listen and comfort, I promise my dear.
Your dreams are mine as much as there’re yours.
I’ll accept you just as you are rare, rare.
I’ll bend the rules; I’ll bend the rules.
Year after year, I’ll do that for you.
I’ll bend the rules; I’ll bend the rules.
Out of love not because I need to.
I’ll bend the rules, I’ll bend the rules
‘til everybody knows you’re my desire,
I’ll bend the rules: I’ll bend the rules.
I’ll bend the rules!
