Perhaps the only song on the Yokva EP that is not rooted in social protest/social criticism. My "dream band" had just broken up, mostly because of the drummer's anger issues (go figure) and one night I had a little, ok way too much wine and started feeling whimsical and apologetic. So I called the drummer. This was the one time I tried to rekindle the friendship and I got no answer. So I screamed "I'M SORRY!" in a voice message but never heard back. Years later I wrote this song. This was a dark time in my life, having isolated myself to just one band over the course of two or three years, the band vanishing and having to start from scratch. Ultimately it was the best thing to happen to my creativity and it toughened my skin as a performer and songwriter. On to new beginnings...

let me talk about the day that I called you
that desolate afternoon
let me talk about the day that I called you
that desolate afternoon
the pieces that we were
wholly and after you
let me talk about the day that I called you
that desolate afternoon
let me talk about the day that I called you
that desolate afternoon
let me talk about the day that I called you
that desolate afternoon
the pieces we keep are
wholly and after you
the pieces we keep are
wholly and after you
that desolate afternoon (let me talk about the day that I called you)
