Danny has chronicled his experience of reflecting on a past self that craved ‘this’, without seeming to know that ‘this’ would mean struggle, dealing with tough emotions, and losing people from his life. “My mind is always telling me go out and chase your dreams But I’ve been chasing ghosts who I don’t know” He acknowledges the vagueness of the dream and that maybe this is it, despite the jadedness and exhaustion he’s dealing with. With “Is This Rock n Roll?”, Danny is putting a call out for understanding of where he is right now. Danny shared with us that the song was written in a period where he thought about giving up pursuing music. He states “It’s about how I’ve dedicated myself to music and with sacrifices that have led to isolation and feeling a bit lost, ‘chasing ghosts that I don’t know’.
